2002 S60 car runs for 2 seconds and then stops

Post by rohran »

Thought you guys might appreciate knowing this. The computer wasn't all the way in. The pink slides were about a quarter of an inch back. It would crank and start, but then die after 2 seconds... I didn't have the right tool to put the computer in. I was just using a screwdriver. Also, My scanner was complaining that it couldn't talk to the computer. I'm guessing that it will now.

High fives, anybody?

Glad you solved it. Looking at your post title I was going to say that your MAF was bad. Did this on my XC90. So for those that look at your post and did not play with the computer. Check your MAF, unplug it and see if the car starts, if it does replace your MAF.

I had to take the computer out in order to swap the engine. I didn't have the Volvo tool to put it back in, so I worked it in with a screw driver, but not far enough
