Welcome to MVS forums!
Try the following to reset your service light:

-Ignition position I
-Press and hold in the reset button for the trip odometer
-Ignition position II.
Note! Turn the key to position II within 2 seconds.
-Hold the reset button for the trip meter pressed in until the original value has been reset.
Note! For all vehicles from the 2003 model year a general yellow lamp will light when the reset button must be released.
-Release the reset button for the trip odometer within 4 seconds. The instrument gives an audible signal when resetting has succeeded
-If the trip meter is already reset the reset button should be held in for a minimum of 10 seconds and a maximum of 14 seconds.
Note! If the reset button for the trip odometer is not released within 4 seconds, the service reminder indicator (SRI) is not reset.

Never heard of numbers coming up....if you turn the key off and pull it out of the ignition and then put the key back in, are the numbers still there?

Okay...did an extensive search and found a guy on another board who has a '02 S60...same numbers came up. Evidently this means that the reset was not done properly. Try it again. Make sure all of your doors are closed when you do it. Seems to help- don't know why.

Also, quoting from the other post, "Code 045 is nothing to bother about. It comes up then the re-set service message again. Before you release the trip button wait until the warning triangle flashes orange in the display."

Sorry Jingle, I posted while you were posting so you didn't see what I added above...try it again but wait until the triangle flashes....remember also that now you have to hold the button longer because your trip meter has reset to zero.

Let us know if you get the service light off successfully! :)

By the way, if you don't do it right, you might also get a 063 code.
From further searching I found that some folk's '02's follow a slightly different procedure. Here is that other reset info if you are still having trouble with the above method....worth a try:
1) Turn to Position I
2) Press trip odometer reset until it goes to 0
3) WHILE STILL KEEPING IT PRESSED, turn key to position II
4) When trip odometer returns to original mileage, turn off, then back on to confirm

which ever method works, copy it off and keep it in your glove box.
