2001 S60 5MT Coolant Loss Pre & Post Heater Core Replacement

Post by WarbirdPilot91 »

Hello gang,

So, the for last month, my S60 has sprung a "Low Coolant Level" light every week or so. I would check the reservoir, and it would be quite low. I've filled it back up each time. I noticed that the floor mat on the drivers side was becoming soaked with coolant, mostly by my right foot/gas pedal.

I had my mechanic look at it yesterday, and he deemed the heater core to be the culprit. They replaced it. Today, I got in and started driving to class. About halfway there, the light came on again! I noticed that the floor mat was soaked once more with coolant.

She is going back into the shop tomorrow, but I am curious if anyone else has had this issue. Thanks.

I am having the same issue I am getting a round puddle behind my right foot on the drivers side I notice some white residue after it dries up so I am Lead to the same repair. The heater core. With that being said I have seen some people just replace the O-rings on the core and fix this issue also. I am unsure of which route to take myself.
