The new one (junkyard one) that I put in seems to work, except for the auto fan mode (auto selector works for air direction). Any reason for that besides the board is broken?

Kinda adding on to an old thread, but I replaced my heater core with some generic cheap one from amazon and it started leaking again within a few months (minor leak, not major fluid loss, but strong smell in cabin).

What are you guys suggestions on purchasing one. The job is easy in a volvo, $50 from autozone with a lifetime warranty... any thoughts?

Just wondering where the location of the leak was on your Amazon core.
I had to replace my heater core in January... I considered my options and ended up choosing to go with an OEM Behr core from FCP. The core was about $95 and fit in perfectly. It has been in for about three months with all well so far, so I'm happy with it at this point.
Good luck!

If your fan is not working in Auto mode, it is most likely the resistor pack that has failed. Re-check you didn't accidently disconnect any wires while under that dashboard. If you were not under th passenger side then wiring is unlikely to be the issue, it will be the resistor pack. While you are working on the heating system, clean the 2 cabin sensors to make sure they are not seized. On a 93 they should be behind the grab handles either side at the front above the doors. They get bunged up with air-borne crap over the years and will prevent the system being able to measure and control the temperature. This can also affect the fan operation in Auto mode.

Going back to the ACC topic of the thread, where is this board located? Is it behind the glovebox?

Not sure yet, its still in the car. Odor and humidity are the symptoms now. Autozone one is $50 with lifetime warranty, Behr is $95... Thoughts? This car has 250000+ miles on it.

This is in the ACC Control Unit above the radio in the dash. (ACC unit is separated to show this part)
