Anyone in LA area got a soldering iron hot enough to do this job? I'll bring you a six pack of your frosty beverage of choice if you let me borrow your tool =)

So I ended up taking it to Module Repair in van nuys, CA. Good people... Fixed it for me on the spot and treated me well. Hopefully the repair holds. Just couldn't make it out to victors shop. If you are in LA area and can't make it to victor's shop, I recommend these guys.

Came across these crusty demons on a Tracs ABS unit from a 850 the other day.

I have a rating of 30 watts however it has a 130W element built into the trigger for short sharp bursts; great for those pins and other large surface solder points.

The top row on the smaller pins is particularly bad

A quick update. I did the ABS module repair. My ABS light was intermittent. It stayed on after the repair. I have more than adequate soldering skills, as I was a component level stereo repair man when such thing were still viable.
So I removed my front sensors and found rust had accumulated under my left front. That was probably due to the splash shield rotting away. I cleaned the area and all is well now. This may be something to look at as well. It seems I had 2 issues.

Hi,

I try to remove ABS module today but left bottom screw is already stripped.
What do you suggest? I can't work there because too narrow.

time to dremel tool it off! Or try to grab the head with some pliers or vide grips.

I have a similar issue and luckily ABS works for now.

Dremel and other tools too big for work there. I have a mini plier but it can't grab the screw.

Snap the head off if it can be grabbed. Fatigue it off with lots of side to side bending. It may take 30 or more cycles to snap.
