98 Volvo V-70 wagon tire sizes

I own a 98 V70 wagon w/ 140K miles on it. On a whim I purchased some stock 16"Jag wheels w/ 225 55 R16 Michelins on them at a price too good to turn down. The bolt pattern is definately the same but the tires almost look too tall. I know I need shocks and struts which may lift the car a little but will these tires actually fit this car? I know I can get my $$$ back out of these if I sell them but I really wanted to use them. Any advice on the tire sizes I can run on this car?

The correct size is 205/55/16 or 205/60/15
You can run 205 or 215/45/17's and other combinations but that tire is a bit too tall

I have a 2000 v70 wagon volvo. And I wanted to know if it could take 205 65 15 size tires??

That would be the tire size for a V70XC. I don't see why it should not work on a non XC.

225/55/16 will rub on both ends...front end rear.
On front end they will rub on the inside on full lock and on rear end when fully loaded...also on the inside.

215/55 or 50/16 will fit just fine.

On tired springs and shocks you can lose 1-2 inches of ride height easily, so check that first unless all four corners of the car are fresh.

Stock tire size for a '98 non-turbo, non AWD is 195 60 R15.

Mine came from the factory with 205/50/16 on persus alloy wheels.
