2007 XC90 A/C clutch or compressor troubleshooting

Upon inspecting engine on 2007 xc90, we noticed abnormal black dust. Upon further inspection, it appeared that the a/c compressor clutch was rubbing and causing the dusting as well as small metal shavings. We purchased a new clutch from the Volvo dealer and are currently in the process of replacing the compressor clutch. We cannot seem to get it shimmed correctly as we are still finding metal shavings. The compressor runs at the appropriate times, but the clutch becomes abnormally hot after about a minute running. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
