My car is currently fitted with IPD anti-sway bars and I am totally fed up with them graunching and clunking. I have replaced the bushes and rebuilt with their 'Aqua-lube' multiple times and the best I have managed is about 300km before the issues return. Like many IPD parts I am getting tired of them and the issues they cause on this car and looking to return to standard and this includes front and rear anti-sway bars.
As I never removed the original Volvo item from the car, I figured out (with Vida help) that the car has a 'yellow - code 2' anti-sway bar.
I am curious what the different codes stand for - A, 1, 2?
Presumably they are possibly different stiffness, thickness of bar and possibly the bush also.
Anyone have a definitive answer?

Never got a reply to this, but having done some more research on MVS found a very useful thread from the past that relates the paint dab color to which anti-sway bar is which. From that I now know which diameter of anti-sway bar should have been fitted from the factory (Marked 2 on the ID plate under hood and yellow paint dab).
Strange thing is that according to that the 'R' had a smaller diameter anti-sway bar than a 2000 V70 XC. I brought one home from PnP from a 2000 V70 XC as it seemed rude to leave it for $20 CDN as the bushes still look ok (someone had already removed it to get the steering rack out). The diameter differences are not that great, (21 v's 21.5mm) but strange none the less. I may yet use this one to replace the PITA IPD groaner at the front of the car. New bushes, loads of IPD special Aqualube and multiple removals, and re-fittings have only managed about 100km before groaning returns (and not just from the car!!).

I've heard of people wrapping sway bars in teflon tape to prevent binding against the bushing.
Some people with Miatas install grease nipples on their sway bar bushings so that they can periodically re-grease them after installation, like one does with greasable suspension bits.
Obviously greasing your bushings every 100km doesn't sound fun, but it may be that the process of greasing is not getting enough grease to the bits that need it, or that the installation process smears the grease off.
The Teflon tape sounds easier and cheaper, but the grease fitting is a pretty simple idea.

j-dawg you are a star! This link was started by a guy just north of me and describes the issue to a 'T'. Funny that when I talked to IPD about the issue they had 'never heard of the issue'. I have used tubes of their lube and it didn't help. Also explains why I am slowly returning the car to stock and removing the IPD stuff. I'll leave the Rica software though, as I can remove that easily with the softloader and swap back to standard in a few minutes.
You don't thankfully have to drop the front cradle to work on these. You just can't torque the rear ones to spec, but tight it fine.
Got a set of these grease-able links on order from Amazon for the 1" IPD sway bar. Including shipping is less than IPD price too without their ridiculous shipping costs to Canada (they wanted $32 to ship the rear end links that are $4!!).
Worth a shot and really like the grease nipple option assuming it will be accessible once fitted.
