2009 S60 interior water leak

I'll give all relevant info first:
The leak saturated the carpets only on the drivers side front and rear
All sunroof drains have been tested and perform perfectly
Pollen filter and box are clean and dry, no debris
AC condensation drain line has been tested,on drivers side in this model, is not clogged and is secure to the fittings at both ends

San Antonio recently had rains that dumped 2-4 inches in a short time
car is parked outside
problem has never occured before, even during previous heavy rains

windshield has not been replaced and appears to be in good condition

what to check next?
no recent maintenance performed by self or dealer

I'd have a close look at the rubber trim across the door frame. The engine coolant level in the reservoir is checking fine?

The lower trim under the windshield
Simple enough to test, take a hose, stand there with the water running for 5-15 minutes and see what happens!

tested and not coolant, but good idea.
This is original windshield but have read about windshield gaskets and seals going bad over time. Will check first thing tomorrow and update. Thanks.

When you do JRL's garden hose test, run the water full blast down the cowl drain and make sure it drains out the bottom of the car OK and doesn't back up and find a path into the cabin. If you park the car where where it gets leaves and debris down in the drain, it can kind of clog up down at the bottom where it drains out from behind the plastic inner fender. The rain may have come down so fast that it simply couldn't run out fast enough. I'm up in Fort Worth and I can't believe how hard it rained. And I think it was worse for you guys.

It should be easy enough to pull the inner fender loose just a little ways at the rear end enough to reach your hand or long screwdriver up in there to knock the majority of the crud out.

for JRL, is the trim you are referring to the cowl and corner pieces or the bottom section of the actual windshield gasket and sealant.

We had a massive leak thru a newly installed windshield a few years ago, the windshield sealant had gaps on the bottom but water managed to get back up on the inside and drop down by the passenger side.

After taking out glove box and panels on the right side, along with sound proofed floor down to metal floor it was easy enough to find trace leak up to window. BTW, that soundproofing floor should be thoroughly dried, ours had absorbed a LOT of water and took days to dry. We had 2 inches of standing water on passenger side above the carpet though.

Not saying the window is leaking for you but taking things apart helped us identify the source using a garden hose and seeing where the flow came from.... then there was a drying, not sure how easy mold grows but a spongy material like the floors would probably be heaven for those guys.
