another wheel fitment issue....15 inch Columba?

Post by mika »

I saw some "what looked like" Columba wheels for cheap and picked them up. They were advertised as Toyota wheels, but looked exactly like the Columba wheels.

I picked them up, and it says they are 15 inches. Columbas never came in 15 though I thought, only 16 inch?

Here are some inscriptions on the wheels: offset 43.... 616: V4.......PCD 108.....6.5J x15HS....ET 43

Can anyone help me decipher if these will fit my 850? They are stamped "made in Italy" if that helps, I am not sure if they are or not stamped volvo (cant look right now)

I believe you are correct as I have never seen a set of 15" Columba's. You have most of the correct requirements to fit your Volvo provided you have the 280 mm front rotors. If your rotors are the 302 mm diameter, then you are out of luck. The offset is good as is the 108 mm x 5 wheel bolt pitch. The main issue is the measurement you don't give and that is the center hub diameter. Someone can gladly correct me, but I believe the center bore needs to be 65.1 mm for your car. If it is smaller it will not fit over the center of the hub without machining. If it larger, your wheels may not 'center' correctly and you may get a lot of wheel vibration as some have found out.

I think the ATP rings are for centering purposes....as used in hub centric wheels.

Will report back if they fit! They sure look like columbas thought, I find it hard to believe they are knock offs

If the center hole is too small it would be well worth having them machined to spec. You could keep the "cushy" ride of 195/60s and have the great look of the Columba.

appreciate the advice dosbricks.

Is it a machinist I am looking for? Would an engine rebuilder have the boring (is that what it is called) machine? Or is there another "guy"/ place that I should seek out

center bore needs to be 65.1 mm, correct?

A machine shop would gauge the inside of your existing wheel and bore the new ones to match in diameter and depth. Dead center is critical. The stock and trade of machine shops is precision milling.
