Hi Adrian I have a 1997 V70 2.5T AWD it was getting 14L but had a faulty viscous coupling causing shuttering in the rear end when parking like a diff lock so I removed it and the tail shaft and now get 10L I would like to put a new one in but $700 is the only price I have in Australia.
Regards Steve.

to original poster: you can run the car as front wheel drive only with no problems (remove shaft). FWD is not bad in the snow either. good luck finding an angle gear and driveshaft if they need repair, especially in France. Robert DIY did a video on this topic and it was not a pleasant job. Please look into his youtube channel: RobertDIY if you are not familiar with it yet. Videos on EVERY area of the car

You can get away with 99% of jobs (that are DIY) without a hydraulic ramp. Obviously, if your budget permits, than go ahead and enjoy pouring cement to get the lift installed, I wish I had one!
