The battery light came on in my car, then I started losing power to my car. After the car did for about 30minminutes it would start back up. I had a test ran on the battery then when they got ready to test the alternator it read no connection. I took the alternator out of the car then had them test it & it was fine. I cleaned out the connectors & that didn't fix the problem either. Does anyone have an idea what else could be causing this or how to fix it?

Check your battery cables by seeing of they are hot when you run the car.

Check your ground points - there are lots of them.

Finally, its possible your battery has either an internal short or an open plate - this will kill you alternator too, eventually.

When the car is running, what is the voltage at the battery? What is the voltage between the battery + and alternator +?
