2001 V70 T5M Throttle Stopped Working

While I was moving in a parking lot today I let the clutch out as I turned and didn't use much throttle. I was distracted bay a few things and just din't bother to rev the engine enough. The engine bogged a bit and nearly stalled so I quickly pushed in the clutch but then found the engine wouldn't respond to the throttle. I actually though the engine had died but it was still running. Just no throttle. I backed the car into a spot using the clutch and the engine at idle, then shut it off and restarted it and everything was fine. Does this happen or is it a sign of something to come?

If the ETS light isn't on, or you aren't getting the warning message on the display screen about engine service, drive on.it sounds like your near stall glitches the throttle body, which then defaults to a limp mode where is does not respond to your right foot. This is so HAL9000 can't take over your throttle.

I think you car has message display and no ETS light.

Best time of year to be on the Cape btw...

Thanks for the reply. No messages, and it ran perfectly from Stamford CT all the way home including 1 hr.+ in bumper to bumper traffic and ran perfectly today. Must be a glitch. The ETM was replaced not too long ago by the PO so I'm hoping it lasts.

No Cape for me this time of year. My town has a beach you can drive on, and I have a boat and a pool. My summer plans are easy. I just go home!

I got 137000 out of my ETB, and I have about 33000 on the replacement, so I'm in the same boat.

Cuttyhunk is our favorite place, and the only traffic is fender to fender.
