2003 Volvo XC90 2.5 Emergency Brake Adjstment

Post by pkakaie »

I replaces the Emergency Brake pads for my XC90 and now I cannot find the Adjuster to adjust the brake pad.
I looked for it everywhere under the steering wheel, near to driver side door even around the transmission. Can someone please help me and tell where the Adjuster is located and how to adjust it?
I looked at couple posts online but my car does not match my car.

thanks

my mechanic said there are two places to adjust the e brake cable on a 2011 xc90. First under the dash where you have to remove the panel and then drop the fuse box which is supposed to move out of the way. He said my fuse box was jammed and he didnt want to force it so he made an adjustment by removing the plastic side panel that holds the carpet next to the drivers gas pedal. Below the carpet is supposed to be a removable plate on the transmission tunnel and under that is a place to adjust the cable. He got enough adjustment there to make the e brake functional however he said I would eventually have to get to the adjusters under the fuse box and they would have to figure out why the box is jammed and wont lower out of the way.

I have an 04 and its under the side panel of the tranny hump in the driver side. You just grab the feet air vent and pull.
