Hey all,
I see that some people have had similar issues, but it seems mine is slightly different. I have a CEL and P0088 fault on the car, and it will not clear. This is what I've done so far:
- Tried resetting the ECM by pulling fuses / relays; worked for about 5min before the fault returned
- Replaced the FPS on the fuel rail with the Land Rover Bosch equivalent (other forums have success with it as well)
- Tried a reset again after FPS replacement; no luck
- Checked fuel rail pressure at the schrader valve, gauge was reading 90psi (I'm not sure that was correct, going to a different place with a different gauge later)
The car doesn't sputter, stall, or show any signs of the fuel system acting up. The car does have a bit of lag at launch, but that might just be another adjustment I was looking at (wastegate setting). Other than that, the car runs well, pulls nice, and doesn't go into any limp mode / safety setting.
I've read that the FPCM located next to the fuel filter could be the culprit, as the ones located externally to the tank sometimes short out and need to be rerouted / replaced inside the trunk. Am I going about this right? Is there something else I should check prior to buying that unit?

Update:
I tried a second fuel pressure gauge at a different location with the same results, 82ish PSI at the fuel rail with the car running (I believe that's very high). Anyone else think it may be the FPCM that's making the fuel pump go wild?

Scan it with VIDA and look at fuel pump duty cycle/pressures are at idle and WOT.

Hey all,
So I purchased a Bluetooth OBDII reader, as well as used an app called Torque to verify the readout that I was measuring was correct. At idle, the pressure is right around 640kPa - 680kPa, which seems insanely high. I didn't take the car for a spin at all (work stuff, you know?) so I don't have any other data available. However, going by what was stated in other forums / posts, I believe I'm suffering from a shorted FPCM / PEM / FPM (everyone calls the same thing a different name, basically the pump control module) and I have one on order now.
I'm also going to try and clean the contacts on this one to see if that rectifies the issue, seeing that it is easily accessible from the side of the vehicle near the fuel pump. If that works, I guess I'll just ride it out until the new one gets here.

Getting to the pump is easy too! There's a hatch under the rear seats. Make sure the battery is disconnected when you remove the seats. There are SRS connectors in the seats.

So the FPCM should be here Monday, and depending on the time it shows up, I should be able to swap it out. Has anyone swapped one of these before, or know of a write-up on how it's done? I see that it's on a plastic bracket attached to the fuel cell, but I can't seem to figure out if it slides up and off, or if there's some other way that it's secured.

For R related things I'd suggest swedespeed over MVS.

Hey all,
PROBLEM FIXED! I got the new PEM (FPCM / FPM / whatever you want to call it) and installed it tonight, cleared the code via Torque and took the whip for a spin. The CEL remained clear, and Torque was reporting ~395kPa fuel rail pressure. The car seems more responsive, and seems to have cleared the slight hesitation at acceleration as well.
Thanks for the help everyone!
