I just double posted using MVS mobile and Chrome. The back button on my mobile broought me back to my post and I unwittingly reedited my post which resulted in a double post. How donwe edit a post in mobile format without doing this?
The mobile interface is way too small even on a Galaxy Note 5 and I can hardly read topics. I can't scroll topics quickly with a flick of my finger and it behaves more like a clumsy and cumbersome desktop interface without the benefit of a mouse.
Now that Tapatalk has been outgrown I can no longer use it with MVS (won't read current or participated topics) This is a big step backwards for MVS Matt as we should be embracing ways to use mobiles more safely and easily with software that makes forums a pleasure to use. We should ask Tapatalk users if they can contribute to the cost of inclusion on MVS as this interface is moving forward with technology. Mobile is not.

This behavior is a function of how HTTP works. Once a post is sent (Submitted), going back to that page in browser history and clicking Submit will send (Submit) a second post. Always has, always will. You can do this anywhere on the 'Net, except sites that have sophisticated code to detect a second post.precopster wrote:I just double posted using MVS mobile and Chrome. If you need to edit a submitted post, you must click Edit on that post.

That's what I'm informed MVS forums look like on a Galaxy Note 3. My developer settings don't have a 5 to emulate. Is that what you see? (Minus the development border with rulers.)
I won't have MVS held hostage inside another system (Tapatalk) for reasons I've outlined here. The Web is free, and by and large open-source. Tapatalk is the opposite.

Yep that's what mine looks like. Now zoom your browser down to 66% (if you have a 19" screen) and you begin to appreciate how small the font size is. Now reduce this a further 15% to have an idea of what a smaller mobile looks like. Where is the EDIT button on Mobile? I don't see it. It's there on Full version.
I have great vision and don't wear glasses but I can hardly see the fonts. On Mobile theme there is no squeeze and pull to make the screen larger so I'm constantly going back to Full version so I can enlarge the typeface.
Using my mobile's back button acts like a BACK browser button. I'm very familiar with resubmitting data using the back browser button on a desktop. Using a Mobile theme should be easier to use than a desktop system. It should incorporate the strengths of easier usage and speed and this isn't the case. It's far quicker to use MVS on desktop.
Just highlighting that Mobile has a way to go before it approaches the ease of use that Tapatalk had and until improvements take place I'll need to restrict my posts to the desktop which is VERY limiting. Tapatalk had a white type against black background as an option which was great for reducing glare and eyesore as well as battery usage. If you hadn't used Tapatalk daily like I did you could hardly appreciate what a step backwards Mobile is.

I've been using mobile about 1/3 of the time and didn't think the font was too small. The mobile style comes from a very popular theme designer who I'm guessing knows his font sizes. However, I'll look to add a font-size choice in my next modification of this mobile theme.precopster wrote:Yep that's what mine looks like. This is exactly why I put out a call for suggestions two weeks (?) ago... and your feedback is heard.

I'm unclear on what you're asking here, Mike.precopster wrote:I have great vision and don't wear glasses but I can hardly see the fonts. On Mobile theme there is no squeeze and pull to make the screen larger so I'm constantly going back to Full version so I can enlarge the typeface.

Thanks Matt. I can see that editing is not so complex now. I'm just a grumbly old guy who has trouble adapting to new things
The font on mobile is too small no matter how I look at it. I no use the full version which Chrome supports fully with an auto zoom feature while I type. This avoids typos.
Another problem with mobile theme is that if you reopen the browser there seems to be no auto-refresh feature to show new posts in the same thread. I haven't found the refresh button. When the old thread opens it still shows my first post without the subsequent responses from you. So mobile theme is still not ideal to use. Perhaps its my settings, perhaps not.
I wasn't really asking a question in that quote. I was highlighting that I'm aware that if you use a back brower button while submitting data you will then submit the page twice which isn't good.
All good guess I'll just have to adapt and get used to it
