99 S80 MAF Sensor Cleaning

I am trying to clean my MAF Sensor. It is easy to get to, but very difficult to remove from the large plastic hose. I have had too many plastic parts break during repairs and this part may deadline my car if it gets broken. I am going to try to remove the MAF by pulling it straight out from the front after removing the security screws. I wanted to pull the whole tube from the hose instead, but this proved very difficult. Any suggestions?

try pulling and twisting it upwards. you can also use a heat gun
