I've seen blips and blurbs + a few pics of the redesigned 2008 V70 but no mention as to anything with ponies under the hood. My 98 T-5 has enough power but the normally aspirated V70's just don't do anything for me. If I must drive a wagon to carry the dogs, food and life's other odds and ends I at least want some power under the hood.
Any word on the 2008 V70R and what will power this beast?

No I wasn't kidding, just uneducated. Matt's is really the only forum I frequent for Volvo info.
Second my current ride is a 98 V70 and sense I typically post in this section I thought others with similar models becoming long in the tooth might be interested in finding out more info upgrading to a 2008 V70.
Interesting we have to link to another a competing Volvo site to get the info. Is there anything posted on Matt's or am I missing something?
Thanks for the heads up it is much appreciated.

Guess not.
This is a more do it yourself tech orientated site geared towards Gen 1 cars.
The Volvo community is small and there's no reason not to share info.
I tell SS'ers to go here for certain things they ask so why not the other way around?

So from what I am reading there will be no "R", no V-8, no twin turbo.
A inline 236hp will bring home the power. Seems a weak for the a large heavy vehicle that has been revamped from the ground up and cost 40K+.
I'm dissapointed, might just stick with my T-5
