2002 s80 intermittent power steat

The power seat on my 2002 S80 works intermittently. There seems to be a buzz associated with it when it works. If the car is turned off for a minute or so and then turned back on, it works for a few seconds and then dies????? any thoughts?

maybe motor is shot and motor thermal cutouts (overload) are triggered

The "buzz" sounds like overload. Apart of motor going bad there could also be an obstruction (increased mechanical resistance due to lack of lubricant or dirty/bent/worn mechanism) that puts additional load on the motor.
