What a relief! When I read this thread title I thought it was another P-80 biting the dust.

Careful about a rebound relationship
and tor the thread title-It would be highly illogical to expect control with a compressed and frozen damper.

Current Volvos:
1998 V70 T5, 112k sat 5 years, still in mechanical coma (finally at the top of the pile )
2004 XC90 T6 AWD: 186k, 60 on transaxle ( traded in )
1998 POS70 N/A: DD/training aid, 236k but really about 240k, I think...ABS module( passed on to son who sold it)

I swapped out my Nivomats for a lower mileage set from the wreckers this summer, and the ride height is back to what it was a few years ago. Strangely, only the driver's side shock was shot - boot ripped, casing rusted, no charge left. The passenger side looked great, almost like it had been replaced recently. Any difference in yours?

This one came from the passenger side, I picked up a set from Erie and replaced only the passenger side so far and it already rides like new. The drivers side looks like it may have been replaced at some point in the cars life.
But same thing, boot gone, leaking oil.
Only thing i'm not thrilled with is they sent me a set from an XC and the back rides up too high. Hoping they can swap them.
