I've looked. All the ones for the iPhone are NOT Bluetooth compatible. They need a wifi capable dongle. Haven't tried any out yet.

I'm using Torque and Torque Pro with the little ELM adaptor they sell a ton of on Amazon.
Seems like the apps are sending signals to the ecm that can sometimes cause the engine not to start, or stall at idle while the OBDII is plugged in.

Poking around, I see some of the truck guys are having the same problem, even engine shutdown at 70mph. They speculate it is Torque looking for nonexistent PIDs on the computer? Anybody having the problem or who can share a deeper insight?

For the time being I'll just use Torque to check P-codes, and not run the engine with the adapter plugged in. I've learned from hearsay that a software reload is expensive.

I use a ELM327 too (this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/291552743884?_t ... EBIDX%3AIT) with Torque light app on an Android tablet. The free version of Torque app is perfect and it's the only one out there to give so much engine information in a free version. I get MAF pressure, air flow, temperature, fuel pressure, timing advance among others.

I think I'm having trouble using the Torque lite on my 1998 V70 T5 with this ELM 327 adapter ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005NL ... ge_o02_s00 ). The only data I can access is "Voltage (OBD Adapter)". Everything else I've tried says "no data". This includes Engine RPM, Coolant temp, Timing Adv, Volts (Control Module) and others. When adding a dial for a new sensor the asterisk is shown indicating the sensor "has data". As soon as I actually add the new sensor to my screen the new dial reads "no data" and when viewing the list of sensors in the add sensor function the asterisk is gone and the sensor is now found grouped with other sensors that display the "no data" message.

My CEL is on but no codes are returned.

Rebooted my phone several times. Moto Droid Maxx, Android 4.4.4.

No idea what I am doing wrong. Suggestions?

I'd be happy to upgrade to the Torque Pro app but so far I can't see a good reason to do so unless only the pro version will actually work.

I did the "Reset dials to default layout" function and now it seems to be working. At least rpm, vacuum and other sensors show real info. Still no codes detected even though cel is on. This has been reported and debated as incomplete implementation of OBD2 or other causes. Too late to do more now but I will follow up if successful with CEL.

Still no codes after several more tests. I'm following up in another thread (https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums ... 71#p391371) so I won't duplicate here. But a basic question relevant to this thread is whether there is some easily reversible way to generate a code that can be used to verify that Torque is working to detect codes?

Pull a hose off of your vacuum tree temporarily. That should throw enough of a code for the app to read.

I use the torque app on my '97 850 every time I drive. It's absolutely great. With the 850 the OBDII port is in a decent place to not get in the way as well. I use it as a simple way to keep track of how many miles I've driven as my odometer is non functioning at the moment (it's on the list!) The ELM327 adapter can also be used to pull actual mileage through a hand written program as well. AI apologize as I only skimmed this thread so I'm not sure if it has been mentioned, but you an pull the actual mileage of a 96+ (I think) car and above with a nonfunctioning odometer using an ELM327 and a simple program someone coded. I can provide a link to the program in question if it hasn't already been mentioned.

I just drove two miles with the gas cap removed. Fuel was full. Still no codes reported by Torque using this device. Shouldn't this generate a code?

I'm interested about the link to the program

My ELM327 also doesn't show any code, I believe it doesn't show the codes on P2 platforms with Torque
