HELP my 94 850 Turbo is a dog

HELP my 94 850 Turbo is a dog

94 850 Turbo all stock 95000 mi. My boost gauge never moves into the white area at all. At idle it is near the left of the black area and the car is slow like a non turbo car, and shifts very hard into 2nd and 3rd gear when accelerating. I do not hear any noise from the turbo or hear any air leaks. I have checked the vacuum lines and intercooler hoses and unhooked the battery for an hour. The car runs perfect and idles smoothly it just does not have the power it should. My wifes 6cyl Jeep Cherokee will blow it's doors off. What should I check next? thanks

Any codes out of ports A-2 or A-6? Also, since you talk about hard shifting, any codes out of port A-1?

Dump the codes and post them. If you are not familiar, here is how you do it:

Thanks, My check engine light is not on. But I will check the codes in the morning.

Codes are 1-1-1 on all. After checking the codes the CEL was on when I satrted the car (I did not turn the key to off before starting after the code test). I turned it off and restarted it and the CEL light went off. Any suggestions or is it time to make an appt. at the dealer? - 150 miles away.

I'm thinking a good tune up may be the only thing you really need....plugs, wires, rotor, cap, air filter...and check to see if there are any leaks in your vacuum hoses. The boost gauge itself is off of a vacuum line. It could have a crack in it as well, so won't show much boost.

Pulled the plastic hose off the turbo and stuck my fingrer in the turbo and it does not turn. Should I just get a stock replacement turbo? I won;t be doing any performance mods on this car so I am not sure if there is much to gain by going to the 16t or not. Thanks for the replies

If it doesn't turn at all, then it's shot. Look on the for sale section of the www.volvospeed.com forum. The guys over there are always upgrading turbo's to 16T's and larger and will have some 13's for sale. Good luck!
