replaced O2 sensor but plug not inserted completely

Post by sanfelice »

I could not get the plug to insert completely, although it runs fine, so it must be inserted enough to make contact.

Removing the turbo hose was a non-starter, as the last person to work on it apparently put the clamp on from the bottom with some crazy extension. :x

Since I did this from the top, I guess I will bring it to a shop to put on a lift and get someone with some kind of tool unless someone has some sort of idea.

Thanks for any suggestions.

What is the car in question? The oxygen sensors have a connector like a ZIF socket, the connector goes together and then the tab slides sideways to secure it.

This is my V70R P80, which has a clip that is secured on the side by two pins, not the sliding tabs. Very difficult to do from the top.
