All the exhaust camshaft seal info i come across shows a plastic cover... And totally different Motor Mount "thingy".
Questions:
Is what i need to remove located in the pic of circled motor mount area (what is that part called)?
Do I need to support the engine when changing the exhaust cam seal?
Any known write ups for my particular model would be OVERLY APRECIATED...2000 S70 BASE MODEL
THANKS

I think it would be best to replace it. The ones I've seen seem to have a rubber-like coating that will probably aid in sealing.
For what it's worth, I found a cam seal that popped out under the sensor wheel on my 2000 R. This let the oil drip through the sensor and made a mess. I could smell it burning when driving the car.

Good for you, no seal at all huh, that's weird...so oil has been gushing out for while then? The turbo models have a bunch more stuff in the way to get to the back of the exhaust camshaft but it's much easier than the front cam seal replacement. I had an old rear cam seal that was totally popped off the rear of the camshaft leaking through the cam sensor recently. The rear cam seal on intake side of same car went a year ago which leaked into cap/rotor then out of cap all over wiring and the transmission. First sign of an issue was blue smoke coming out of my exhaust on medium to heavy throttle while driving.nthnnxn wrote:Thanks for the replies guys! there was no seal for the exhaust cam after getting that cover off (which i only minorly ruined)..but there is one on there now!
