Hello Guys,
My last topic was titled my next volvo, I think I jinxed myself. Thanks to some lovely lady I have lost my 96 850 GLE Wagon. I replaced it with 1998 V70 wagon non-turbo. My problem is this car does not drive anything like my last, It seems to be well taken care of only 135 000 KLMs it has had a recent alignment, the ball joints have been done and the tires are new. I've read about alot of you guys replacing shocks & struts and adding swaybars. What am I looking at to do this type of work money wise and what have you guys had good look with? I like a sports car in my wagon but I am not to sure about lowering it as I do live in Canada and still have to drive the car in the winter.
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks Graham
making my new volvo handle like my last

A GOOD set of struts and shocks (I now prefer standard Konis, but there are others)
A GOOD set of tires and
A pair of ipd sway bars will transform your V70.
Naturally you check all bushings, etc but just installing the above will transform your wagon into a pretty nice ride

The tires are bridgestone potenza with a nice looking directional pattern wouldn't think they would be junk but who knows? What is the usual interval to replace shocks and struts, my last had a 155,000 klms on it when I bought it and I'm thinking the origionals may have been replaced. Does anybody know of a strut and sway bar package I thought I saw one on a Volvo related site.
Thanks Graham,
