Mysterious Vacuum Lines / Vacuum Tree Overview?

Hi,

I'm super confused. Today I checked the vacuum lines from the vacuum tree. It turned out that nearly every line and connector needs to be replaced. Well, I also found 2 lines which are just not connected to anything and open. I guess that is not how it should be and I want to have that fixed.

Now, where can I get a prober overview of the routing of my engine? I feel like every diagram I see doesn't represent the vacuum tree fully that I know where to connect the new lines (or maybe shut them off).

Attached a picture of the open 2 lines...no clue what to do with them

Would be also interesting to know where the black line (which goes all the way around the air filter and disappears somewhere behind it) connects to.

That 94 presumably has EGR, look around under the hood of your car for a sticker like this one:

I would re-do all of the vacuum lines per the sticker on your car or, if you can't find one, use the image above.

The "black line around the air filter" are you referring to one in the pic, or some other line? Air filter lines very clearly documented here (yes for a non-turbo, but the air filter lines are the same for a turbo): https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums ... hp?t=65002

Thank you cn90. This helps already to get an idea where I have to connect the stuff.

Makes sense now to me. I need to get all these lines new and replace them. One line makes me sorrows though. The diagram shows this one line going to the pressure gauge (which one is it?). This line also needs to get serviced. Does it go all the way into the car? At some point (next to the break fluid canister) I can see it disapear and it might be pretty hart to replace that. Any suggestions?

It goes through the firewall somewhere through a small rubber port. It's on the very bottom of the diagram above.

What abscate said, and that is the line in the bottom of the diagram I posted, it is labeled "Pressure Gauge." For starters I would only replace the rubber portion of that line, where it connects to the vacuum tree. Then, If the boost gauge that it connects to seems to be working well , leave the hard plastic alone. Same for the cruise control lines under the battery tray: leave alone the hard plastic if it is working.

All other vacuum lines replace with generic rubber or silicone, both work equally well.

I would but as far as I can see the plastic pipe as a hole somewhere around the area where it goes into the firewall. What is this boost gauge for? Is it the turbo gauge in the dashboard? If so, is it a really that important to replace or can I just shut that pipe down completly?

A turbo with no boost gauge? That's like spaghetti without meatballs....what's the point?
