So far I haven't found a cleaning/rebuilding service here in Omaha, so I might need to ship elsewhere.
Got my '04 V70 T5 I'm pecking away at.
Anybody got a recommendation for an injector cleaning/rebuilding place? Any I want to avoid?

You have 2 options:
1. Clean them at home (watch some youtube video using carb cleaner etc.).
2. Search for diesel engine service (truckers use this) in Omaha NE.
The last time I spoke to a diesel service place, they said they clean injectors for about $10-$15/each.
You have to leave the injector there for the whole day.
Look for diesel service.

You can buy completely rebuilt injectors from the common suppliers (FCPGroton, etc.) for about $45 each, so why bother with sending them out? The tough part is getting all the seals to line up and not be damaged on reassembly, and the rebuilt injectors have brand new seals both at the rail and on the seat.

I cleaned my blue injectors for less than $90 for all 5, comes back with a flow sheet too. Cost less, more information about the injectors, genuine OEM parts, got them back on the same day. I would definitely send them out to clean, if I have an extra set of injectors or the car can be down for a few days.harryhendo wrote:You can buy completely rebuilt injectors from the common suppliers (FCPGroton, etc.) for about $45 each, so why bother with sending them out?

Look up on Ebay for cleaning service, usually 10-$15/injector. I did so with great results. Or as mentioned above, any diesel/Truck shop will do it because the trucks do it on a regular basis.

FOLLOW-UP
I became more and more convinced that injector trouble was the most likely culprit for the hard cold starts.
I ended up buying rebuilt OEM injectors from a place in Minnesota. The price was right ($124.00 + free shipping), and they carry a 3-year unlimited mileage warranty. Here's a link to the eBay item: http://www.ebay.com/itm/191363292909
I swapped the "new" injectors in and - holy cow - WHAT a difference! Even though it was 10-below zero yesterday morning, the car cranked and fired off immediately.
I'm hopeful!

You must have a source I can't access. Cheapest I could find was through IPD. $54 per injector (on clearance). They only had 2 available, and with shipping it would have cost $120 for 2 injectors. Nothing else I could find was under $73.cn90 wrote:FYI,
A brand-new Bosch injector is $50/each or $250 for the car.
Up to people to choose between rebuilt vs new.
