Soft Hose indentification 1995 850 T WGN

Post by norbert »

Can someone please help me id this?
I have a great mechanic, who upon noting a hole in one of the turbo hoses, proceeded to tape it, even though
it is under pressure and gushing oil everywhere. Give me a break, I am not a mechanic and don't have a dad.

This is probably supposed to be a hard hose all the way through, but mine has a soft hose connecting two hard hoses with
some clamps. The soft hose is taped at the clamp, as you can see. I had to retape it, as it isn't quite doing the job.

I have two pics: one of the top hose and another with the soft hose as seen from above. So there is the top hose, clamp, soft hose with hole and tape with a snake like texture, and then a hard hose that it connects to again below.

My question is, before I get reamed again, should I replace the soft hose with a hard hose or a soft hose? Can I get away with
something from the hardware store? I am on a tight budget. The two hard hoses above and below look intact but I am assuredly ruining my turbo with this mess. I don't have James Bond smoke coming out of the tailpipe yet.......

What part number/id is this please?
Thanks

If you're ok with spending a little more, this set will replace all the worn out soft hoses.

If you just want a stock hose replacement, I think I have one $5 + shipping.

You can use the diagram from vivaperformance to have an idea of which hose is which:

I come up with an OEM part number of 9161091 for the hose. It won't hurt the turbo but it does kill the cars power if it is leaking.

I am just curious, has anyone tried the Mishimoto kit, about $182?

Thanks so much for all replies. I got the hose online for 11.00 with the OEM part number. I was quoted at least 60.00 just for the hose from every mechanic I asked. I realize now that the oil is a result of a clogged PCV system. This hose problem was causing sporadic power loss.
The damn thing had a hole in it!
