Ngk V-line copper are 3 eur/each in Serbia.
Ngk bkr6eix are 17eur(15$)/each in Serbia

Oem Volvo are 50-60eur/set.
Eyquem RFC 52 LS3(Volvo 9146775) are 5eur/each.
So...Oem Volvo plugs,which are manufactured by French Eyquem are 25eur for 5 pc.
Oem Volvo,a set of five,which are made by Eyquem btw,but they are not in a set of 5 are double cheaper.
The point is that we pay double more money just for a Volvo box or package.Usually it's triple higher. :twisted:

Misha great info on the part manufacturer for Volvo plugs.

Part number 9146775 doesn't register on Tasca Parts site or on other parts dealer sites so that part number may be superceded or obsolete but the pic I provided shows 8642660 which now sells at Tasca around $24.50USD for a set of 5

Volvo 9146775 is the same as 8642660.
My old oem Volvo spark plugs have 9146775 Made in France stamped on round metal part of the spark plugs although there is Volvo 8642660 number on the package,on top right corner.

Eyquem RFC 52 LS3 have the same 9146775 Made in France stamp on round metal part of spark plugs...just instead of blue Volvo mark on ceramical part,there is Eyquem RFC 52 LS3 mark.

Pull one spark plug from Oem Volvo set 8642660.Take a look at round metal part.
You will see Made in France and 9146775 number on it. :wink:

Ok great so for records sake let's stick to what works. 8642660 and RFC 52 LS3 is what will yield a result on search engines.

Again awesome info on the Eyquem (I'm surprised anybody can spell that) :)

Volvo OE are Champion plugs.
Anyway stick to the volvo plugs, you can't go wrong with them and they last along time.

Volvo OEM spark plugs are made by diff mfg's depending on the countries (Serbia, France, Austria, USA) etc.

I also own a BMW, and people in the BMW virtually never buy spark plugs from BMW, for a simple reason that they are over-priced and not better than Bosch or NGK plugs, which basically make the spark plugs for BMW.

I find it amusing that people here swear by Volvo plugs, especially when there are cheaper alternatives such as Bosch copper, NGK copper, NGK Iridium.

To my turbos I fit NGK 6962 or BKR6E (V Line) for $2.50 each from Amazon. Over here in Oz you would pay $8 each at Autozone equivalent (Repco)

I only fitted the 3 prong OEMs because I scored them cheaply. I would gladly substitute OEs with NGKs any day.

In 2014 I read of at least 2 cases of Volvo OE electrodes falling off into the cylinder on turbo cars.

Hi, can we get back on topic please.

My question was what type of spark plug would be good to use in a non-turbo engine, specifically the B5202S in a '96 850, not turbos.

Turbos and plugs for them have appearently been debated long and hard in other topics. I know people are only eager to help based on their experiences (for that I do thank you) but for me and others, that might want the same information as I, it is like stepping into a mine field.

I see more people give praise to NGK plugs. I have to see if there is a Danish seller of those, I just might have luck.

We already talked about non-turbo. I will repeat my opinion. Of course, others have their own.

My preference for both turbo and non-turbo engines:
- NGK Copper: replace every 25K-30K---> BKR6ES (NGK 6962)
- NGK Iridium: replace every 90K-100K miles ---> BKR6EIX (NGK 6418)

8642660 from Tasca (a Volvo dealer) are non turbo OEM or Eyquem RFC 52 LS3 (same thing as OEM) or NGK 3 prong
BKR6ETUC

The NGK 6962 is a great plug and will work fine on non turbos (if you want to save money and avoid the whole 3 prong thing) and is equally
capable (read the Amazon reviews on NGK 6962 for more testimonies)

Man there are so many options out there. I just spotted an Aussie eBay ad that lists a Denso equivalent of the NGK 6962 for only $16 delivered for 12 of them. Denso is part supplier for Toyota. Denso number is K20PR-U11
