Hello Folks,
My 1992 940GL sedan, non turbo, automatic, Regina ignition system, 230K miles, was very hard to start, and when it did, idled at only 400 RPM. I replaced the idle air control valve (very hard to find... found it on Ebay), and also replaced the air intake to oil trap hose which was cracked.
This helped a bit, as the car now idled a bit higher, but was still very hard to start.
So I traced the issue to a faulty fuel pressure regulator, and now the car starts on the first try (yeah!).
But it now idles at about 1600 RPM!
I tried adjusting the idle screw, turning it out a few turns, but the silver throttle "arm" which attaches to the throttle plate does not even come in contact with the screw anymore, and the car still idles at 1600 RPM.
I checked and soaped and listened to all the vacuum and air intake hoses, but they are all in great condition.
Do you have any ideas? Thank you!

Rex-I is the ignition system, and Regina is the fuel system.harryhendo wrote:Regina ignition system...But it now idles at about 1600 RPM!
Make sure IAC and ECT electrical plugs are inserted, and then if high idle exists, tap lightly on IAC when engine is running at high idle.
Here's a post on how to fix a Regina IAC
A Bosch 0280140516 Idle Air Control Valve, which is used on LH 2.4
vehicles may work, if LH-2.4's electrical plug is used.
