MA, CT and RI only offer gasoline with 10% ethanol. It's the law or something...

lol. my first thought reading that was "There is gas without ethanol?" Thanks for clearing that up as CT/MA/RI is >90% of my driving.RussB wrote:Jellobmw wrote:+1 on toptiergas and double +1 on ethanol free!

I am surprised. I have found that the availability of real gasoline is proportional to your geographic distance from Iowa. In Missouri and Kansas about the only place that I can buy unadulterated gasoline is at a marina or an airport. I was in Louisville, Kentucky on a small job a couple of years ago and filled up the Platinum with 98 octane real gasoline. I couldn't believe how well the car ran and how good the gas mileage was. I didn't even think of stopping to fill up until I was West of St. Louis which was about 65 or 70 miles further than a normal (e10) tank of gas will take me. Premium around home with the ethanol blend is 91 or 93 depending on the gas station.RussB wrote:Jellobmw wrote:+1 on toptiergas and double +1 on ethanol free!

Put new plugs/wires on it in the fall, should have done the distributor cap/rotor while I was at it...BEJinFbk wrote:I'd consider having a look for something on the ignition
side if this happens again. Probably moisture related.
98?! Wow! I'm taking a bucket to Kentucky ASAP. I've honestly never seen anything higher than 94 at a pump. 93 is the highest octane they sell here in MI.Ozark Lee wrote:I am surprised. You can probably get avgas at Landmark Aviation at GRR if you make some friends over there. Bring deep pockets though.benpineapple wrote:Put new plugs/wires on it in the fall, should have done the distributor cap/rotor while I was at it...BEJinFbk wrote:I'd consider having a look for something on the ignition

I have the same problem here, we only have 91 Octane max. We used to have 94 but Sunocco a couple years ago pulled out of the country.Ozark Lee wrote:I am surprised.
