Around 1200 rpm -- knocking sound S70

98 S70 T5 150K and recently, around 1200 rpm I hear a knocking sound from the engine compartment (while seated in the car) -- sounds like a diesel engine would sound. Commonly, what could that possibly be?

Exhaust leak?

I had an exhuast leak sound (sounded like diesel), that ended up being the front engine mount.

Can you video the engine and rev it to 1200RPM then post it? As you have a 98 you have the cable throttle so should allow you to do this and may help to diagnose the area it is coming from.

When it isn't zero outside, I'll have to try and pinpoint it. Engine mounts are good and it really sounds exactly like that diesel knocking sound rather then exhaust. -- anyway, thought it may be something that had an instant answer. -- thanks
