2001 S60 2.4T: SRS/Power Seat/Transmission issues

Post by YorkField »

Good time of the day!

I'm sorry in advance for posting a bunch of different and probably not related issues as one topic but I did a fair bit of reading prior to posting this and what I'm trying to do now is to form all the obtained information into one valid "picture" :)

I'll start with the "SRS Airbag: Service urgent" message on the trip computer display and the red SRS light on. I managed to pull out a bunch of codes related to SRS Airbags and they are SRS-00D0, SRS-0107, SRS-E003 and SRS-0044. From the topics I came across, people are saying the wiring issues with the seat buckle and right side AirBag are not new, but the "SRS-0107: Control Module. Internal Fault" and "SRS-E003: Configuration Fault. Software. Permanent / Intermittent fault Connecting..." are giving me some questions:
1.1) Is it some kind of a result of a wiring issue?
1.2) Do I need to replace the SRS Control Module?
1.3) If I do, would I need to go to the official dealer to get it "programmed" for my particular car or some local mechanic will do?

Another problem with the car is a power seat which works for only 30 seconds after unlocking the car (not every time). There was a topic about this on the forum but I didn't see people come up with a final solution. What I'm thinking right now is swapping out the power seat control module for some used one and a bunch of questions come up again...
2.1) Would the power seat control module need to be programmed for my car?
2.2) If so, would a local mechanic be able to do it or it's time for a trip to the dealership?
2.3) Could it (power seat control module) be related to SRS wiring? (I saw the belt buckle and orange SRS cable connect to the module(?) or somewhere else under the seat)

And the last problem I'm having here is rough shift while stopping. I read many topics about it and pretty much everyone says it's been fixed with a transmission software update. Only question is if it's a dealership-only thing or, yet again, a local mechanic will do?

Thank you very much for your help in advance! :)

P.s. The car is 2001 Right Hand Drive S60 2.4T with 206000kms.
P.s.P.s. The car was purchased at ~204000kms with all the described problems existing. I have no reason to believe the car has been in an accident before.

Small update: swapping out power seat control module for another one from S80 didn't have any effect, the seat behaves in absolutely same way as before and same error codes keep returning

Have Volvo dealer check for transmission codes. Check transmission fluid level and color/smell. If brown or burnt smelling, change fluid with correct 3309 specification fluid. Software update is dealer only.
