Yes, I did.
I only forgot to plug it back in when I checked the PTC nipple later on. It did not seem to make a difference either way.
When should the PTC nipple close?
When should it open?
I can check the electrical connector if its in question.

PTC connector is probably irrelevant, can't see that it would matter. Your observations back that up.
Nothing opens or closes on the PTC, it is just a metal plate with a hole in it. Many people incorrectly refer to the PTC as the "PTC valve" and that helps foster confusion. The PTC connector just provides electrical current to heat the metal element inside, to help it shed oily deposits. It would only make a difference if unplugged for a very long time, leading to premature clogging of the PTC.

I was looking up other catch can solutions, then found this topic:
https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums ... 81#p392581
and posted this:
I know I have my A and B hose reversed at the catch can, but since the catch can is open I am unsure how much that can made a difference.
BUT: Hose E is connected at EB1, then to the catch can. There is no check valve from E1 to EB1, what stops boost from pressurizing the catch can? Just the size of the hose??

The catch can (oil trap) is not just open. I think your swapping the hoses are exactly why the boost is popping the dip stick

Would you look at that. Thanks for all of the help guys!! Abscate, you were correct. I took it apart yesterday, swapped those and all is finally well.
Now onto fixing the radio (no audio) and replacing the driver side upper spring seat.
Abscate I owe you a beer next time you are in the Syracuse area. LMK.

NIce - we ar skipping winter in ALB this year, but Ill be headed the West Coast soon....BUF...
Next plane trip Ill try to gedanken my way through how this operates. Im thinking
Hose E cleans the canister out under idle and low boost
Hose B cleans the canister out under boost - the E hose just leaks boost back to the PTC nipple since it is blocked somewhat in the box (if its installed correctly

Glad you got this fixed in the end. Sometimes it is the simplest and what may seem illogical issues that bite you. Lesson learned for you and the rest of us to be careful on swapping the PCV system.
As far as I can see the PTC is only an air warmer to try to reduce the likelihood of the pipe blocking.
Radio issue could be the head unit or your amp depending on what radio you have. If you have an amp, it should be bolted under the passenger side front seat.
I have spare radios and amps, but shipping to the US can be expensive, but at least you have the 70c exchange rate against the CDN$!
Neil.

Thanks. I tried another radio and it still did not work, so I am sure its an amp issue (even tho it worked before I disconnected the battery when I replaced all of the dash bulbs).
I own and work/mod many of my cars, but this one is breaking my balls pretty often, heh. It is ok, I dont give up very easy.
