I just bought this car and within a week this code came up after I put my OBD-II on it.
Powertrain 0705 involves the transmission range sensor.
My question:
Does anyone know if this sensor is inside the PNP switch assembly or bolted to it? Separate? integrated?
I have seen the Volvo m850 PNP switch video on YT but do not know if the 960, being RWD, will be that similar.
I still have to figure out how to get the 1997 parts and service manuals.
The car is stored 65 miles away in a large garage and protected by a friend, so I plan my visits, taking all tools and info with me for sertvice.
I have ordered a PNP, as part of a baseline effort. The dealer is highly uncooperative and has lied to me. I have all the docs from the prior owner and the dealer has denied he's done service other than oil changes, probably because of the lifetime service work.
Thanks for info in advance!
