Hello all,
I am new to this forum and I have come across a problem...
I recently let my 240 sit for a week because it had been raining a lot and my wipers don't work that fast anymore so when it finally stopped raining I tried to start it up and it wouldn't. There is a lot of fuel getting to the rail I checked by disconnecting the return hose from the fuel pressure regulator and fuel shot straight out but no fuel to the injectors because I lifted the fuel rail with injectors and saw no spray pattern. When I put fuel into intake it starts up then dies.I can here and feel the fuel pump relay click but still no start. I have a few spare relays and decided to open one up and saw two small coils in it. I found that when I turn the key to the II slot only one coil clicks and when I turn the key to the III slot the engine turns but won't start. Now none of my relays won't even click anymore. I replaced the Jetronic ECU with a 951 (white label) and ignition ECU 152 (green label) still nothing. BUT here is the puzzling part!!!...When I disconnect the fuel pump relay, fuses 4 and 6, and the ECU, the main fuel pump still turns on when the key is turned to the II slot...?????? Can someone help me figure this out.
So far I have replaced the battery(under warranty), fuel pressure regulator(under warranty), getting spark, crank position sensor, coolant temp sensor(under warranty), cold start injector, fuel rail, injectors, 8 fuel pump relays, cleaned fuse holders for 4 and 6, replaced fuses 4 and 6, 25amp fuse and weather proof holder, Jetronic ECU, ignition ECU.
Note: Before I let it sit for a week it ran like a champ.
No start issue

Maybe a crank position sensor. The hood on my 240 used to have a gap at the back end of it (it had just developed over time, no accidents or impacts), and as I found out water was essentially dropping down in the center, down the firewall, and right onto the crank position sensor which is right on top. At the time of the discovery, the car was not running at all, wouldn't even start. I pulled the sensor at the contact on it was all rusty and nasty looking. Replaced it, and had no issues after. Just a thought. This sounds like a very odd no-start issue you're dealing with.
My mechanic had suggested a Jetronic issue, which I replaced to no avail.
