boost contol valve, 1998, v40, t4, 19t, 150,00miles

Hello my car is strugling when boosting fairly hard, ive read the codes and they say,, boost control valve and fuel to rich, the too rich 1 i guess is because its still putting fuel in whilst when its boosting and not getting burnt because of the boost problem. i work on cars everyday and have never had to change a boost control valve, is this a comon fault on these cars or do you think its the maf? even tho its not showing in the fault code? as 9 times out of 10 the maf will bring up other faults without showing as 1 itself, thank you for any help.

Check your air...seems you're not getting enough...some leak(s) in the turbo hose(s) for instance....or even a dirty air filter. Last, check the boost control valve, although these hardly ever go.
