Right rear door window motor removal

Can the rear window motor be removed without replacing the regulator?
If it can what is the procedure?

It can be replaced but the regulator needs to be removed from the door to do it. Once the regulator is removed there are, as I recall, three Torx screws that holds the motor in place and it is very simple to replace it.

The motors front to rear are identical but they are different left to right so be sure to get a replacement for the correct side of the car.

I think the motor maybe ok. When I press the drivers window control I can hear some clicking in the motor. Could be the switch in the door or in the drivers side door. Will have to investigate further when the weather warms up.

The rear window motor can be easily tested without removing it.
But you'll need to identify the vehicle in question.
'98's and '04's have more than a few differences.

If this is for your 1998 V70, then search for that infamous thread where the MASTER Switch is removed.
Then the RR part of the MASTER Switch is cleaned with sand paper.

But to test the rear motor directly, just
remove and unplug the rear door switch.

Power can then be connected straight to the
motor to see if the switches are the problem
( Most Likely ) or if there's really a motor issue.

Knowing which car and which door we're talking
about would make it possible to come up with the
motor's wire colors at the rear switch connector.
