My search is getting frustrating. Mostly, I guess you get what you pay for.

I might just buy some Perelli P7's (have had nice experience with a set of P6's (15") got nearly new from junk yard at a spoiler price of ~ $50.00 each. Need some 16's for the other 850. Michelin's carry a premium brand name but some reviews diss them.

If anybody has scored a great find (with real world wear data) at around $70.00 each—glad to hear about them!

Check out a brand made by Cooper Tires called Mastercraft. They are made in Findley, Ohio at the Cooper Tire plant. I have the on one of the V70s, S80 and the Passat. As I understand the Mastercraft line uses the Cooper molds. I am very satisfied with these tires.

What is the reputation of Cooper tires, how is their quality?
Cooper bought a "Trayal" tire factory in Krusevac,Serbia and they now manufacturing Mentor and Starfire tires under Cooper name.
Prices are more than acceptable than competitors but i don't know what are their quality.
I never saw any of you guys have Cooper tires on your cars.

$60 pre-paid Visa card with purchase of four Pirelli P-7 or many other of their tires.

Remember, tirerack.com prices are for drop-shipped only--not mounting and balancing or free rotation. But this factory promotion may be available from dealers that do include the other stuff.

Yup, same deal at Discount Tire good through May 2nd.

If you want wear data, tirerack has comparison charts that reflect millions of miles of owner use. Drill down a bit to get the info.

I'm running Coopers on both of my Volvos,as well as snows.

My local tire guy rebalances, mounts, and flat repairs all my fleet for free. He gets all my tire business

So...what is your experience with Cooper tires?
I had Continental,Michelin,Semperit,Bridgestone,Pirelli...for both winter and summer set....but never had Cooper.
Price is 50-60% off of any of those i mentioned above.

I'm a big fan of Dunlop, both for my snow and summer tires. Excellent grip, resists dry rot well and better prices than the Michelins of the world. Michelins are so over priced, I've had them before. Never understood why Dunlop isn't more popular

I did research about 5 years ago with emphasis on balanced, wet performance
and tread life. Chose the General Altimax RT43 and first put them on our old
Mazda 626, then on my 2011 Sonata, and on the front on the Volvo.
I've put 40,000 on them on the Sonata and am just now thinking that I need to
check them, or at least rotate them. We don't use the Mazda enough to have
any treadlife estimate and the Volvo odometer has been broken.
They did completely change the tread pattern from when I did the research to
when I put them on the Sonata.

We use Town Fair tire that is, I think, a CT or North East business and they will
match price with Tire Rack with shipping but you have to find a good one
with good techs. They aligned the Volvo and so far wear has been very low,
it was way out and it destroyed the last pair of almost new tires. I twisted their
arm for the first set of four and they only charged me the Tire Rack price
without shipping. Next time they insisted, then when I pointed it out on 2 more
for the Volvo they did not add on the shipping charge.

I would review test reports if anyone is interested in these since the tread has
changed since I did the research.

I have Yokohama Avid Ascend 15" on both Volvos and 17" on Subaru and have gotten 70,000 on previous sets. Tire rack $73 for the 15 "
