C70 roof sensors

Post by tonyvolvo »

My beloved C70 has had a stuck roof for awhile. I am considering fixing it. The last time I took it to the volvo shop, they couldn't calibrate it and said it needed a right rear latch position sensor and a top position sensor, and that the estimate is $850. My question is are there part numbers for these that I could locate for a better price? This dealer is notoriously expensive and I need to save $ where I can. Is there an alternative name for these, as I haven't found these items and have come across microswitches?

Your first step is to get a schematic with the part numbers. I get these from my Volvo dealer. They can be finicky giving these out so you must explain you intend to fix the issue yourself and you need to know what part numbers they will need to order. If they won't give them up PM me with your VIN. I will see if I can get the info from my dealer and send them to you.

There is a Volvo Indy in NE Ohio that has some serviceable soft tops parts. They service the BIL C70 convertable. If you know what you need give them a call at 330-297-1297. They were able top put Eds top back into operating condition after it catastrophically imploded.
