Troubleshooting code P0087

Post by bradmag »

I have a 2006 S40 T5 that just suddently stopped at the stop light last night.

Turns over, but CEL is on, and the meter I have showed a low Fuel pressure fault.

I could not locate any fuel filter on this vehicle, tracing the lines underneath. A dealer told me that metal gas tank models may not have one externally to be replaced.

Can I get osme advice on how to diagnose if this is a bad fuel pump vs a fuel pressure sender error or some fuel relay?

I looked that code up specific to Volvos and there is a fuel pressure sensor. Not sure where it's located but the sensor itself could be bad.
