Help-any advice gratefully received!
Have recently acquired an 850 1996 year model. Since weather has got colder the auto box will not change up out of first first thing in the morning. After driving a mile or so box changes fine. I can overcome the problem by dropping down from drive to 3-then it changes up. Clearly however something is wrong! Another problem which may be connected-sometimes after a short trip the angine will not restart after stopping-I have to wait for a couple of minutes and then it starts.
Have tried changing ATF but no better-could this be selector (PNP) switch problem?

850 T5 auto box sticking in first gear
Could very easily be the PNP switch. These little guys are notorious go breaking on the 850 model. Especially the 95 and 96. Check out www.volvospeed.com for more info.
