Can anybody recommend a good grease that would be compatible with the Volvo grease that is still inside the boot? I think I read in the Haynes manual that the CV grease is molybdenum disulphide based, but I'm not sure what brand would be best. Any advice would be appreciated!

1997 Volvo 855: Inner CV Joint grease advice needed
I replaced my inner CV joint boot a couple years ago with a Volvo boot and I didn't tighten the large Oetiker clamp down enough, so some of the Volvo grease that came in the Volvo boot kit has leaked out around the joint. I'd guess that about 10-40g of grease was lost. I was thinking it might be best to remove the old clamp, add back some grease to the joint and then install a new Oetiker clamp.
Can anybody recommend a good grease that would be compatible with the Volvo grease that is still inside the boot? I think I read in the Haynes manual that the CV grease is molybdenum disulphide based, but I'm not sure what brand would be best. Any advice would be appreciated!

Just use regular graphite grease, the same grease which is used for cv joint.

Interesting comments, good to hear. I would have thought a CV grease (Mo - disulfide) would be a better choice.

Thanks for all the input guys... appreciated!
I bought a 14 oz./400g canister of Supertech "extreme pressure" molybdenum disulfide lithium grease for $3.50. It's base type is lithium 12 hydroxy stearate (lithium soap) and is intended for wheel bearings, ball and roller bearings, and ball joints. The label says it contains MoS2. The MSDS doesn't list the MoS2.
This grease is probably overkill for an inner CV joint, but it was only $1 more expensive than the lithium-only grease.
