Quick question on 850 exhaust connection

Post by hausmeister »

Hey.
This is a noob question, but I have not replaced an exhaust yet. I'm replacing the stock with an ferrita DP and TME catback. The Joint between the 2 looks like the catback was not widened enough to fit the dp correctly. Do I just heat it up and bang it on there? I'm afraid of damaging the parts. Maybe it is supposed to be like this (?) - but from other Pictures of a stock exhaust I have seen it seems like the joint fits better.
Maybe someone with experience can clarify this for me.

I'm not experienced in working with metal, but I understand basic physics and violence
