99 S70T5 going into limp mode,no codes.

Not sure if this is significant or not. But I unplugged my maf sensor and tried to get the symptoms back. I did two runs of driving and shutting the car off to try to get it into limp mode and it wouldn't go into limp, or light up any dash lights. Then one the third time it idled even worse and went into limp mode and popped two codes(I can't remember which ones but cleared them and they haven't came back with the maf plugged in
