My Volvo 960 is immobilized

Post by 960orbust »

1997 964 sedan. Have key but no fob.

Let it sit for a week after driving it recently following a monthy in the garage.

Today, I further charged the battery then had to leave. So I disconnected the battery charger and attempted to start the car.

The car alarm went off, flashers flashed and would not allow me to start the car.

To get the alarm off, I had to turn off the ignition and relock the car with the key.

I want to disable the alarm, if necessary forever, even if it means losing the power door locks.

This beautiful car is starting to become a pain in the PITA with its ridiculous temperamental little electric problems.

However to drive it, even to move it, I need to know the answer to one question:

How do I disable the alarm/immobilizer so I can drive the car?

I know there are modules to pull but Volvo is not very forthcoming with information in print. And I refuse to spend 1,000 to fix this at a dealership.

Thanks,
D
