Forever Black

Post by Geevs »

Hi all,

Has anyone used Forever Black to restore the black luster on their 850 bumper and trim? I have initially applied it on my rear bumper. I used the pre-cleaner to clean the bumper and then rinsed it off then left to dry. Then I appied the reconditioner/dye using the built-in applicator but the liquid doesn't seem to be spreading & absorbing evenly. Now it looks like there are streaks from the applicator sponge. Am I doing something wrong? Or is there a better way to apply the stuff (i.e. better sponge, dilution, etc.)

Thanks,
Geevs

I used it on my Saab and didn't have any problems, and planned to use it on my my Volvo. I'd be interested in hearing any responses before I do.

Hi CamperGuy,

Is your Saab's bumper smooth-textured or semi-smooth? The Volvos are the latter and I wonder if this has anything to do with the uneven streaks. I've Googled the newsgroups and seems like other cars don't seem to have the uneven streaking problem. I only came across another Volvo owner that also mentioned he had slight uneven streaks.

Thanks,

Hi Geves,

I seem to think it was smooth. I don't recall having any issues with it. Have you tried contacting the manufacturer? Maybe an alternate applicator might work.
