Starting my v70 after garaged for 3 years

Post by Pametheah »

I had left my car in my grandmother's garage because I couldn't afford insurance in NYC. I have since moved and come back to get it. It has been sitting for about 2.5 years, with very little gas.

I do not have a lot of money. I am charging a manual jumpstart battery to try and revive it. I was told to add drygas to the tank and some fresh gas and give it a whorl.

Any advice so I don't ruin the engine before I attempt this?

Thanks!

Greetings Pam

First off , don't sweat. These cars are tough.

Put about 5 gallons fresh gas in, don't worry about the dry gas.

Then give it a try with either a fresh battery or a jump start. Your old battery will be dead and not recoverable. Sad face

It might smoke a bit but let it warm up. Don't drive it , though. You will probably need brake work.

Agree, the battery is dead. Don't spend your time on it.
