I sold this R about 3 to 4 years ago, at that time it had about 82,000 miles.
I did a ton of work to it at that time, incl. a new breather system complete, a new headlight, new PEGS and tires and several other things that frankly I forget what I did.
The owner who was in the South moved fairly close to me. He called and asked if I wanted to buy it back so we got together and made a deal.
He thought it had broken shocks, this thing made so much noise that you couldn't even pinpoint where all the noises came from!
Long story short, the shocks were fine, in fact better than fine, they're great, everything else was not.
I have done... (so far):
NEW LOWER CONTROL ARMS AND NEW BALL JOINTS COMPLETE
NEW FRONT SWAY LINKS (completely destroyed!)
NEW RIGHT INNER AND OUTER CV BOOTS
FRONT BRAKE PADS (OEM VOLVO)
FULL VOLVO T-BELT AND TENSIONER KIT
TWO MOTOR MOUNTS, (The upper torque mount is near new).
NEW RADIATOR
NEW UPPER AND LOWER HOSES + CLAMPS
ANOTHER TRANNY FLUSH
CLEANED THE THROTTLE
NEW FUEL FILTER
NEW REAR WHEEL BEARING (It was so loud I could not hear myself think)!
Tires are 17" DWS. The PEGS were brand new 3 years ago.
This one comes with a complete set of Euro rails not on the car, complete w/ the cut strips and all
It also has a year old IPD exhaust, otherwise it's bone stock and pretty much now at stage 0.
It has a few very small scuffs. I think over 99% will easily come off since you can't feel them with your fingernails. It does have a couple of touched up, 2' scratches in the middle of the roof, I suppose since it originally came with the rails this happened during loading or unloading.
EDIT: We wet sanded these down along with the other boo boos, and now unless you look very carefully, they are not visible!
It runs terrific now, as good as any 05 I've ever driven. She's quick, VERY smooth with a PERFECT transmission.
The Nordkap is in far better than average condition for the age and miles, I'll still probably do some spot repair work to make it a real JRL Volvo.
I would say it needs nothing mechanically at this point!
