Finding 609 Red
I recently bought my 854R. It was 609 red w/ charcoal from the factory. They guy I bought it from replaced the drivers fender with a teal one then decided to primer the whole exterior (terribly) but never repainted it
. I really want to paint it the factory 609 red. Is there a source to get it not just in spray cans without having to get a custom mix and/or cost an insane amount of money?

I was looking at touch up paint sticks and spray cans for small touch up jobs but there were several companies in the US that offered paint in various containers and would mix to a Volvo shade. I found one locally in Calgary here that claims to match paint the same what, and to my Volvo shade of red of 418 for a 97 850. Prices were not horrible, but I could see it adding up when doing a whole car. Quality paint costs.

And red costs more than some other colors since pigmenting agents are more expensive for red.

I recently stumbled across this site looking for the same. You have to use their search as it doesn't come up under the normal finder - enter year, make, model. I haven't used their products yet. The only concern is its basecoat/clearcoat vs the single stage from the factory. It's more durable, but not original.
